FluView_ILI & SARI Surveillance Report for Week 38 & 39, 2015

During weeks 38-39 the incidences of Influenza-like-illness (ILI) was 28/1000 outpatient visits and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) was 5/100 hospitalized patients. The highest incidence for ILI cases among sentinel sites were reported from Paro hospital for both the weeks. SARI incidences were highest in Mongar in week 38, and Tsirang in week 39. ILI cases were mostly observed among age group of 5-14 years, while SARI cases were highest among age groups of 2-4 and 30-64 years. From 43 ILI samples received and tested by Real-Time RT-PCR, the positivity rate was 6.98%.
